Vision

Picture in your mind a community of people who care for each other and serve each other. Imagine a community that celebrates and mourns together, that eats, recreates, and enjoys life together. A community of people that journeys together as they grow in grace and grow into maturity in their faith. Imagine a community of believers that are living their lives on mission; bringing hope, redemption, and reconciliation to their neighborhoods and city through the Gospel. Imagine a church that consists of many of these communities scattered throughout the city. A church that is known less by the programs and events it holds and more by the communities of people that are impacting their city by declaring and displaying the Gospel through their life and community.  This is a picture of what we believe God is calling many individuals together to form as E3.

Vision: A picture of where we are heading.

When you study the New Testament letters written to the early churches you will find that the concern was less on the strategy and programs of the church and more on the church’s understanding of the Gospel and it’s faithfulness to the Gospel in how they lived as a community and how they lived as missionaries to their city. This is not to say that strategy and programs are not valuable, because they are. But it is important to realize that our programs and strategy are secondary and exist to bring structure to the growth of the church and its mission to the world.

The vision for E3 is ultimately a vision for a growing body of believers that are growing in their understanding of the Gospel, living together in a community that is formed out of the Gospel, and living a life of mission to declare and display the Gospel to the world around us.

Our programs, structure, and strategy is important to our vision, but these realities exist to help facilitate the establishment of our vision for a community of believers being transformed by the Gospel while transforming our city with the Gospel.

Strategy: Vision for how we will be organized as a church.

Structural vision: how we will be organized.

Multiple Gospel Communities, gathering together to worship, united as one church.

Multiple Gospel Communities: Our vision is to have Gospel Communities established throughout the city and surrounding area. Each Gospel Community will function in many ways as a small church, studying, growing, and caring for each other. Each Gospel community will also function like a missionary outpost to the area in which they live, serving and reaching out to the people God has placed them among. For more information on Gospel Communities (click here).

Worship Gatherings: As Gospel Communities form through out the area they will then come together to worship. The worship gatherings will be a time for the different communities to join together to publicly celebrate God and what He has done, celebrate what He is doing in our midst, and point toward the hope of what He will one day do upon the completion of His redemptive work. The focus of these gatherings will be hearing the Gospel declared through the Scriptures taught and seeing the Gospel displayed through the sacraments, arts, and music.
